1931 Ford Model A Fordor Sedan - SOLD

Eighteen years after the debut of Ford’s iconic and successful Model T, Ford unveiled the new Model A in 1927 now available in four standard colors. Offered in different body styles to suit almost every taste and purpose, the new Model A could be ordered in a sleek two-door Roadster body configuration all the way up to a luxuriously appointed three-window Fordor Sedan or Town Sedan variant. According to Ford, the Town Sedan was “upholstered and appointed in the manner of a custom-built car,” complete with an adjustable front seat, rear seat with disappearing center arm, and stationary armrests at each side in addition to silk curtains in the rear compartment. While the base price of a Model A would begin at $385 for a Roadster, the price of the top-of-the-line sedan offerings was increased to approximately $1,400. Powered by an L-head inline four-cylinder engine producing around 40 horsepower, this powerplant is not only incredibly robust but was also the first Ford to be offered with a standard set of driver controls with the conventional clutch, brake, throttle, and gearshift providing an incredibly enjoyable and relatable driving experience for those interested in a classic, easy to use touring vehicle.
