1974 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce - SOLD
This 1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce was registered in California before it was acquired by the current owner in 2025, and it is finished in blue over replacement red leatherette upholstery. Powered by a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the car is equipped with SPICA mechanical fuel injection, a black canvas convertible top, power-assisted disc brakes, 14” steel wheels with hubcaps, Koni Classic shocks, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a heater, and a Sony CD stereo.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in blue, and exterior equipment includes a black canvas convertible top, driver and passenger side mirrors, bright trim, and a central exhaust outlet. Repairs and paintwork were performed on portions of the body in 2022 and 2024.
The 14” steel wheels feature hubcaps and are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in 2025. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension, a live rear axle, and anti-roll bars. Koni Classic shock absorbers have been installed, and work in 2022 included overhauling the front suspension, rebuilding the rear trailing arms, machining the brake rotors, and replacing the brake pads and wheel bearings. The rear axle bearings and limiting straps were replaced in 2025.
The front bucket seats were refurbished and reupholstered in red leatherette under current ownership, and they are complemented by color-coordinated door panels. A Sony CD stereo is equipped, and the gearshift lever is located towards the top of the integrated center console. The driver’s floor pan has been repaired.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a dual binnacle gauge cluster housing a Jaeger 8k-rpm tachometer alongside a 140-mph speedometer as well as centrally mounted gauges indicating fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.0L twin-cam inline-four was factory equipped with SPICA mechanical fuel injection and was rated at 129 horsepower when new. Work between 2015 and 2017 included replacing the alternator, fuel pressure sending unit, and oil pressure sending unit. Two of the fuel lines, the right engine mount, and the SPICA unit were replaced in 2022.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The driveshaft center support, front bushing, center support and bearing, and flex discs were replaced in 2025, along with the clutch hydraulic cylinders.
