2000 Mitsubishi EVO VI “Tommi Mäkinen”
This right-hand-drive 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition GSR is #2736 of 3,020 produced, and it was originally specified with Passion Red paintwork, TME decals, and an optional audio system. The two-tone interior features Recaro seats, power windows, air conditioning, and a leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel, and it rides on 17″ Enkei alloy wheels with a specially tuned suspension with aluminum control arms, Brembo brakes. TME models also received an upgraded turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, which is linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip differential. Acquired by its current owner out of Japan in 2025 and subsequently imported and repainted, this TME Evo indicates 99k kilometers (~62k miles)
The Tommi Mäkinen Edition GSR was built to commemorate the Finnish rally driver and his four consecutive World Rally Championship victories. TME-specific bodywork includes an aluminum vented bonnet and front over-fenders as well as a revised front bumper and air dam, body-color power-adjustable side mirrors, mud flaps, rear fender flares, and a rear fog lamp, under spoiler, and adjustable wing. This example is finished in Passion Red (R71) and was repainted in 2025, at which time replacement decals were fitted. The TME Registry lists the car as #2736 of 3,020 produced and one of 644 finished in this color and stripe combination.
White-finished 17″ Enkei wheels are mounted with 225/45 Dunlop tires. Tommi Mäkinen Edition examples were equipped with a specially-tuned suspension featuring aluminum control arms and anti-roll bars front and rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel vented discs with red Brembo front calipers.
The right-hand-drive cabin features Recaro bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Black Ecsaine and Red cloth, and interior appointments include power windows, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a Kenwood head unit.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames a 180-km/h speedometer, a [9 or 10]k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 99k kilometers (~62k miles).
The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4G63 inline-four features a larger capacity front-mounted intercooler, a titanium 68mm-diameter turbo compressor wheel, and redesigned pistons with improved oil flow compared to the standard Evo VI. A Blitz turbo timer has been fitted.
