1977 PORSCHE 930 TURBO CARRERA
This 1977 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is one of 727 produced for its model year in the US market. In 2008, it was exported for one year to Germany, where its turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six and four-speed manual transaxle were overhauled by Freisinger Motorsport. Optioned with a sunroof and a limited-slip differential, the car is refinished in black over black leather, and it has a whale-tail rear spoiler, 16″ Fuchs wheels, sport seats, power windows, MB Quart speakers, a Blaupunkt stereo, and air conditioning. The vehicle was previously listed on BaT in June 2025, and it was acquired by its current owner later that year.
Finished at the factory in black (A1), the car was stripped to bare metal before it was repainted under previous ownership, and photos of the work are shown in the vehicle’s previous BaT listing. Features include an electric sunroof, front fog lights, European-spec Hella H4 headlights, headlamp washers, amber rear indicator lenses, and a “whale tail” rear spoiler. The seller adds that paint correction work was completed in the past year.
The car’s ride height has been lowered, and the staggered-width Fuchs 16″ forged wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. A November 2023 service included replacing the rear sway bar bushings and drop link, and the wheel bearings and seals were replaced in June 2026. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs.
The cabin has front sport seats and a matching dash pad that were reupholstered in black leather under previous ownership. Interior features include a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, MB Quart speakers, power windows, Coco floor mats, and air conditioning. The throttle cable and pedal bushings were replaced in December 2024, and the air conditioning compressor was rebuilt and the system recharged with freon in June 2026.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer with an inset boost gauge, which is flanked by a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer was repaired in December 2024, and it shows 60k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 245 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. In 2009, it was overhauled along with the car’s four-speed manual transaxle, which has a limited-slip differential. The alternator pulley and belt were replaced in December 2024, and the car passed a California smog test in September 2025.
