1941 Ford Pickup Hot Rod

This 1941 Ford pickup was turned into a hot rod by a previous owner. The truck rides on a Mustang II-style front end with disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, and tubular control arms, and out back lowering blocks were used for the Ford 8″ rear end. The two-tone paintwork is complemented by a color-coordinated interior featuring a woodgrained dashboard, Dolphin instruments, a banjo wheel and tilt column, and a floor-mounted Lokar-style shifter, and the bed has wood planking, a spare mounted on the right side, and a custom rear roll pan. The 8BA 239ci flathead V8 is topped by finned Edelbrock heads and has dual Holley 94-style carburetors and a Walker radiator, and it is linked to an AOD automatic transmission. The truck featrures red paintwork contrasted by black fenders and running boards, and it has a wood-lined bed with a spare mounted inside and a custom rear roll pan with dual exhaust outlets integrated into it. The door handles have been shaved, and it has a powered cowl vent and a single-piece windshield.

The Mustang II-style front end features rack-and-pinion steering, tubular control arms, and disc brakes, and out back lowering blocks and parallel leaf springs are used for the Ford 8″ axle. A power booster is mounted under the cab. Blackwall Michelins are mounted on the black-painted steel wheels, which are accented with chrome trim and hubcaps.

The two-tone cabin features cloth upholstery on the bench seat and doors along with black floor mats with red piping. A Kenwood head unit is mounted in the woodgrained dashboard, and the truck also has power windows, a custom console with cup holders, and a Lokar-style shifter.

A wrapped banjo-style wheel is mounted on a chromed tilt column, and Dolphin gauges are set in the dashboard. The current owner added ~500 of the ~4,900 indicated miles.

The 8BA 239ci flathead V8 has finned Edelbrock heads, a dual-carb intake with Holley 94-style carburetors, and a Walker radiator. Fenton headers are linked to a dual exhaust system with Smithy’s mufflers, though both have holes in them.

The AOD automatic is linked to a Ford 8″ rear end.
