1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe M491 - SOLD

This 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera is a Turbo-Look coupe that is finished in Ruby Red Metallic over black leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed 915 manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels, widened bodywork, a tea-tray rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, Bilstein suspension components, Brembo brakes, air conditioning, automatic heating control, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included servicing the transmission, installing a Steve Wong chip and a Fabspeed 3.2 oil line upgrade kit, and replacing the clutch, engine main bearings, air conditioning compressor, suspension components, and the brake rotors and pads. This 911 shows 75k miles.

The car is finished in Ruby Red Metallic (X7) and is optioned with the 491 “Turbo-Look” package which added the front apron, wider fenders, and tea tray rear spoiler from the contemporary 911 Turbo. Additional features include Carrera body graphics, headlamp washers, fender decals, and an electric sunroof. Imperfections are present in the paintwork and are shown close-up in the gallery.

Fuchs 16″ wheels wear Continental ExtremeContact tires showing 2020 and 2021 date codes. Work performed in 2020 is said to have included an alignment as well as replacement of the front strut inserts, rear shocks, and the brake pads and rotors at all four corners.

The cockpit features sport seats upholstered in black leather with matching door panel inserts and gray carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, automatic heating control, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and a WEVO shifter.

A replacement Sierra Madre leather dashboard was reportedly fitted in 2018. The three-spoke steering wheels frames a central tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 75k miles.

The air-cooled 3.2L flat-six features Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and produced 207 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque when new. Equipment is said to include a Steve Wong chip, a BMC air filter, a replacement air conditioning compressor, and a strut tower brace. Service in 2018 reportedly included replacing the engine main bearings, clutch, and first and second gears. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 915 five-speed  manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
