1988 BMW 325is
This 1988 BMW 325is coupe received refurbishment work and modifications in 2020/2021, including an exterior repaint, installation of aftermarket bodywork, an interior retrim, and an overhaul of the 2.5-liter inline-six with a revised camshaft and fuel injectors. The car is finished in white over patterned gray cloth, and highlights include a five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, a MagnaFlow muffler, European-style “smiley” headlights, an MTS Technik coilover kit, and 15″ basketweave wheels as well as an M-Technic I–style steering wheel, a short shifter, R134a air conditioning, and an aftermarket sound system with a Continental stereo. The car was sold on BaT in May 2023 and acquired by the current owner shortly thereafter
The car left the factory finished in Alpine White and was repainted in 2021. M-Technic–style bumpers have been installed, along with 325ix-style side skirts, European-style “smiley” headlights, and a rear spoiler.
The 15″ basketweave wheels are mounted with Yokohama Advan Fleva tires. An MTS Technik coilover kit is said to have been installed under previous ownership. Stopping is from ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes.
The interior was overhauled under previous ownership with replacement patterned cloth seat upholstery, fabric door panel inserts, and a replacement headliner and sun visors. The air conditioning system has been converted to use R134a refrigerant, and a Euro-style clock has been installed along with a Continental stereo and a replacement sound system. A replacement shift knob and boot were fitted under current ownership. The blower motor was replaced, and the air conditioning system was recharged in 2023
An M-Technic I–style steering wheel was installed under previous ownership, and the gauge cluster was overhauled with silver trim rings and a CAtuned-branded tachometer. The six-digit odometer has been reset and now shows 8k miles, an estimated 3,500 of which were added under current ownership. A potential odometer rollback is noted in the Carfax report in 2022, and true mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter M20B25 inline-six was reportedly disassembled and overhauled in 2021. Work is said to have included resurfacing the cylinder head, installing a revised camshaft and later-style fuel injectors, refinishing the headers and the replacement valve cover, and replacing the piston rings, rod bearings, main bearings, air control valve, radiator, and oil pump as well as various seals and sensors.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The driveshaft flex disc, driveshaft support bearing, clutch, and clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2021. A MagnaFlow muffler was installed under previous ownership, and a short shifter was installed in 2025
