2006 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Wagon - SOLD

This 2006 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG wagon was sold on BaT in April 2023 before it was acquired by the current owner later that year. Over $44k of subsequent work and modifications included the installation of a custom sound system, rebuilding the AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission, repainting the front bumper and fenders, and replacing the torque converter, driveline mounts, supercharger belt and idler, and assorted cooling, fuel delivery, ignition, brake, and suspension components. A set of 19″ multi-piece AMG wheels have been added, and modifications under previous ownership include a Wavetrac limited-slip differential, revised engine management software, a supercharger pulley kit, long-tube headers, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddles. Powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8, the car is finished in Designo Graphite Metallic over Charcoal Nappa leather and equipped with Airmatic air suspension, a sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats, third-row seating, and four-zone automatic climate control.

The front bumper cover was sourced from an E63 AMG and was overhauled before it was repainted in, along with the front fenders. XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film was applied to the roof and full front end of the car in, which included the front bumper, hood, headlights, fog lights, side mirrors, and both front fenders.

Multi-piece 19″ AMG double-spoke wheels have been installed, and they are mounted with 245/35 front and 275/30 rear Falken Azenis FK510 tires. The car features three driving modes and Airmatic air suspension. Stopping power is provided by silver AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. Braided stainless-steel Stoptech brake hoses were installed, along with replacement front brake pads, rotors, and thrust arms. The rear air struts were replaced, and the front ball joints and control arms were replaced.

The heated and ventilated multi-contour front sport seats, center bench, and rear-facing third row are trimmed in Charcoal Nappa leather upholstery. Poplar wood trim accents the door panels, dashboard, and center console. Equipment includes keyless-go, four-zone automatic climate control, rear window shades, and cruise control. An Alpine touchscreen stereo head unit, an Arc Audio eight-channel amplifier, and aftermarket speakers were installed.

The 5.4-liter M113K V8 features a Lysholm-type IHI supercharger and was modified with an aftermarket heat exchanger and intercooler pump in, and a RaceIQ performance tune, long-tube headers, a supercharger pulley kit, and a supercharger belt wrap kit.

The AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in October 2024 by Southern Hotrod LLC of Kenner, Louisiana, and it was installed the following month with a replacement torque converter by Benztec of Bellflower, California. The differential was serviced, and the rear axles and shift linkage bushing were replaced under current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Wavetrac limited-slip differential
